Periodic Report - FOOD (Food and society in Mediterranean prehistory)

Project ID: 235966
Funded under: FP7-PEOPLE

This document is an attachment to the periodic report of the FOOD project, which was funded under the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). FOOD aimed to reconstruct diet, economy and social practices in the central Mediterranean during the later prehistory through a direct assessment of food consumption in the Italian peninsula. A stable isotope analysis of human tissues was implemented for that purpose.

The document consists of three figures that highlight the project findings. The first figure provides an overview of carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) isotope data on Neolithic samples. Relevant data on Bronze Age samples are presented in the second figure. Finally, the strontium (Sr) ratios in soil samples, human, animal bone and enamel are also depicted.
