Final Report - DIPNET (Disease interactions and pathogen exchange between farmed and wild aquatic animal populations - a European network)

Project ID: 6598
Funded under: FP6-POLICIES

The DIPNET project, which was funded by the European Commission, aimed to strengthen scientific knowledge on the transfer of pathogens and diseases between aquatic animal populations, to provide scientific advice to policy development, to build networks among interested parties and, finally, to disseminate current knowledge towards information users, stakeholders and the wider European public.

This final activity report highlights the abovementioned objectives and summarises the principal DIPNET findings. The implemented methodology is presented and the project deliverables are listed, along with the undertaken dissemination activities. Moreover, the report analyses the numerous toolbox evaluation scenarios that were examined and closes with a brief overview of risk assessment and modelling and epidemiology and disease surveillance.
