Final Report - NACIR (New applications for CPVs: A fast way to improve reliability and technology progress)

Project ID: 226409
Funded under: FP7-ENERGY

This is the final publishable summary report for the NACIR project which received funding under the European Commission (EC)'s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). Its general aim was to bring together the owners of the most advanced European concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) technology in order to research new applications for CPV systems. In addition to opening up new markets, this research should unveil possible sources of failure in new environments outside Europe in order to assure component reliability.

The report starts with an executive summary providing a general overview of the project and goes on with a brief description of its context and objectives. It then covers the work performed and the results achieved from the installation of the CPV system in Egypt and Morocco as well as the systems' component improvement in terms of efficiency and the development of a new CPV module. The report also discusses the final results and their potential impact and then elaborates on the main scientific and technical results. It closes describing the impact of each result and the dissemination activities. Attached is also the final report of this project which does not include the sections 'Use and dissemination of foreground' and 'Report on social implications'.
