This book contains a selection of papers presented at the COST A5 action workshop and deals with the perceived needs of the elderly in the field of mobility. The areas of research addressed are: prospective research on the elderly (impact of changes in the family structure on socio-economic status); intergenerational solidarity and transfers at private and public levels; and the place of technology in reducing stress in intergenerational relations and in improving services to the elderly.
