  • The method specific certification of the mass fraction of dietary fibre in lyophilised haricot beans, carrot, apple, full fat soya flour and bran breakfast cereal reference materials

This report describes the work performed to prepare five dietary fibre reference materials and certify them by five different methods of analysis. The methods measure different analytes, so certification is based specifically on the method used for analysis. The materials are dried haricot bean powder (certified material (CRM) 514), dried carrot power (CRM 515), dried apple power (CRM 516), full fat soya flour (CRM 517) and dried powdered bran breakfast cereal (CRM 518). The reference materials can only be used to check the performance of the specific methods for which the materials have been certified and for the quality control of analytical measurements for nutritional labelling by these specific methods.
