In the Everest project an assessment has been made of the quantitative impact in the long term on the performance estimators due to the variability and uncertainties affecting the various items entering into the performance assessment for a repository for radioactive waste (high-level as well as medium-level). The work includes model parameter variability, conceptual model differences, scenario characteristics, and future states of the repository system. Disposal concepts in three different host rock formations, clay, granite and rock salt have been considered. The report presents all details of the study and consists of four different volumes divided into six parts. This volume is the second part of Volume 2 and deals with clay formation at the site in France and presents common conclusions on clay. The results were analysed in order to put into evidence the predominant factors and phenomena. Recommendations for further research and development work have been expressed.
