This report is the result of the EC project entitled Anthropogenic climate change. The aim of the project was to provide a better assessment and understanding of future climate change caused by the emission of anthropogenic greenhouse gases. The report details the global coupled ocean-atmosphere models which have been developed, and the results from application of these models in simulating the effect of altered atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations on the future climate. These results, in particular those from coupled models including both greenhouse gases and anthropogenic aerosols, have been instrumental for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in its latest assessment report to conclude that there is a discernible human influence on climate.
