Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

As part of the COST-75 Action on Advanced Weather Radars, a Working Group has been investigating the capabilities, needs and likely technological developments of Doppler weather radar. To further this work and provide a review of the contributions that this technology might make to operational meteorology in Europe, a workshop was held at the Thunderstorm and Hail Prevention Research Centre,Villa Chiozza, Cervinano del Friuli, Italy on 22-23 October 1996. The specific aims of the Workshop were to identify the current position of work on Dopplar radar in Europe; the areas where further work is needed; and the likely future development of Dopplar radar in Europe. This volume contains a record of the proceedings with a summary of the findings which eminated from the discussions.
