This report details the research carried out to produce in continuous casting a billet in hypereutectoidic steel suitable to be directly rolled to end products meeting the necessary segregation requirements. The project has been particularly directed towards the production of billet for ball bearing uses. The performed work is classified as follows:

- Theoretical study on the influence of steel composition on carbide segregation;
- Characterization of in-situ melted and solidified GLEEBLE samples;
- Production and characterization of small induction furnace experimental ingots;
- Dilution tests in billet as-cast samples;
- Modelling of the secondary cooling;
- Production of experimental industrial heats to study the influence of the casting parameters on the carbide mosphology;
- Rolling of the obtained billets under different heating conditions;
- Rolling of billets and subsequent cold drawing for spindles end use. end use.
