Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

This is the final report of the three year EU funded project on Determination of unsatisfactory temperature distributions within foods heated in microwave ovens. The project involved five European research, consumer testing and standards laboratories from UK, Italy and Spain. The main thrust of this project was to develop a system to produce data on the measurement of unsatisfactory temperature distributions during and after microwave reheating. This knowledge will aid Community manufacturers in assessing the design of new microwave ovens and chilled foods that will meet the increased expectations of European consumers.
