Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

This work features study records of standard facilities constructed in ancient times. It is a collection of experiences selected from eight different countries situated primarily in Southern Europe, not forgetting of course Northern Europe. The work takes into account the diffusion, in terms of both time and space, of the model formed by colonized landscapes that always characterize the countryside.

Methodological records pinpoint and illustrate the diversity of the approaches and tools employed, epigraphy, geo-archaeology, geomorphology, photo-interpretations and geographic information systems. They also show us how to enhance the value of this original heritage within the framework of lasting development and a new cultural tourism.

The report is available in two versions: a) as a conventional bound volume, or b) as a set of loose-leaf sheets in a slip-case.
