This volume, prepared by Working Group 1 of COST Action E13, summarises the available experience and knowledge about the various adhesives presently used in the wood-based industry, describing the chemical processes, the application techniques, the technological limitations, the analytical methods for resin characterisation and the test methods for bond properties assessment. It summarises the various bonding theories in relation with the properties and microstructure of the glue line, highlighting the interrelation between the wood surface and the resin.
