  • EU Socio-Economic Research, Competences, Capabilities and Coporate Performances Dynacom, Final report, Project SOE1-CT98-1078 funded under the Targeted Socio-Economic Research Programme, EUR 21033

The project addresses the nature of corporate organizations, their "competences" and "capabilities" and their learning patterns. The analysis is undertaken at different levels of observations - ranging from firm-level studies of the patterns of technological and organizational change all the way to broad cross-national comparisons.
Along with a wide set of empirical investigations, the projects explore the theoretical implications of a competence/capability based view of the firm. Finally, drawing from the observed relationships between competences and various indicators of organizational performances, the project is able to suggest a few "diagnostic" consequences for the European economy together with some policy implications.
