Development for low-cost 60 m diametercarbon fibre technology rotor for the 1MW turbine Tacke Windtechnik TW1000

The realisation of larger wind turbines demands new materials and constructiontechniques. This project aimed to demonstrate the use of carbon fibre, as analternative to conventional GRP/GRE (glass reinforced polyester/glass reinforcedepoxy), for the cost-effective production of a high performance turbine rotor. Aprototype rotor was planned for the 1 MW machine TW1000, manufactured by TackeWindtechnik.
