Periodic Report Summary 2 - TTF (Technology Transfer Fellowships)

This fellowships scheme (Technology Transfer Fellowships aka BEWARE Academia Fellowships) aims at offering, over a five-year period, about fifty 18-to-36-months fellowships to highly skilled researchers to perform a research stay in a Walloon R&D university unit.

Eligible researchers are from all nationalities and must have 4 years of research experience or hold a PhD. They must comply with the following mobility rule: having spent less than 12 month out of the last 36 months in Belgium at the time of submission.

Researchers are invited to apply jointly with a promoter (scientist in charge) from one of the following eligible potential hosts and in collaboration with an industrial sponsor (SME or not). A facilitator is able to ensure the best possible matching between the researcher and the potential host:

- Univesité libre de Bruxelles
- Université catholique de Louvain
- Université de Liège
- Université de Mons
- Université de Namur

Eligible research fields are those covered by the so-called "Marshall Plan 2.green" and "Marshall Plan 4.0" (www.planmarshall.wallonie.be) . They reflect the priority areas identified by the Walloon Government:

- transport and logistics
- mechanical engineering
- life sciences
- agro-industry
- aeronautics and space
- environmental technologies

The project runs on a 5 years period, with 7 cut-off dates : 2014/1 and 2014/2; 2015/1, 2015/2 and 2015/3; 2016/1 and 2016/2.

For this 2016 call, we have involved the industrial Partner asking him to cofund a part (10%) of the project. This new way of work has no incidence on the global budget especially regarding the part of the European Commission.
