ADVANCED TRANSEUROPEAN TELEMATICS APPLICATIONS FOR COMMUNITY HELP

Exploitable results

ATTACH (Advanced Trans-European Telematics Applications for Community Help) has developed, implemented and demonstrated interactive, multimedia, touch-screen kiosks for self-service use by citizens. These have been placed in areas such as shopping centres and council offices and they have been specially designed for ease of use. Some kiosks will have interactive help and immediate feedback facilities as well as access to multilingual translation facilities. Specific new applications will include multilingual teleservices for ethnic minorities, recording, acknowledging and automating citizens' complaints; video contact with police officers in emergency situations; and using the kiosks for public feedback via questionnaires thereby complementing local democracy. ATTACH also exchanges information with interested local authorities outside the project and provides a guide on implementing self-service multimedia applications. Police Services, local authorities and local public service providers, citizens and Community groups are to be concerned as end-users.
