A set of prototype thermal comfort models for evaluation of thermal comfort conditions for outdoor urban spaces

Simplified models to predict thermal comfort conditions in outdoor urban spaces, using publicly available meteorological data. These can have the form of a "City Comfort Index".

To evaluate the effect of different design conditions, e.g.to distinguish between sunny and shaded areas, or areas protected and exposed to the wind, simple correction factors can be introduced on comfort models for design purposes.

These are particularly useful for urban designers, architects and planners, as well as decision makes evaluating design proposals.
