Exploitable results Biosensor platform for fluorescence and luminescence based assays During the funded project CARE-MAN a modular bio-sensor platform for fluorescence excitation and detection was developed. The system is optimized for continuous fluorescence intensity monitoring. For fluorescence excitation the light is coupled into the bio chip by coupling into a cleaved surface of a TIRF chip. The fluorescence is excited through the evanescent field origination from the reflection spots. The evanescent field along the spots acts as an excitation source for fluorophores directly at or in close vicinity to the waveguide surface. The emitted fluorescence light is collected by plastic optical sensing fibers (POF) which guide the fluorescence light to sensitive photo diodes. In addition a different setup without POF was realized using a CCD camera instead of the mulit PD setup. Searching for OpenAIRE data...
