Final Activity Report Summary - EUROMEMBRANES (European Conferences and Training in Membrane Technology)

Membranes have established applications in many industrial lines from petrochemical as far as food technologies, water desalination and medical processes. Advances in the 21st century now look towards fine-tuning de devices for higher selectivity, enhanced stability and higher productivity. In the frame of the Marie-Curie Training Network the project "European Conferences and Training in Membrane Technology" was organised. The project consortium consisted of the co-ordinator GKSS-Forschungszentrum Geesthacht GmbH (GKSS) and the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry (IMC), the University of Genoa (UNIGE) and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KULeuven).

5 events including one conference and three summer schools were organised. The events focused on specific topics of the membrane science to integrate new advanced materials in the membrane technology, enable young scientists to benefit from the experience of leading researchers and promote the involvement of young women in this technology field.
