Advancing the access path to high-energy physics

EUROTeV has contributed to research and development for the proposed International Linear electron-positron Collider (ILC). The project has developed new technologies that will improve communication and remote operations.
Advancing the access path to high-energy physics
The study covered the work of the International Linear Collider (ILC) and the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) scientists in providing access to high-energy physics using beam delivery schemes.

Over the last three years, the 'European design study towards a global TeV linear collider' (EUROTeV) project contributed to research and development (R&D) for the proposed ILC. Advances made here lay the foundation for a worldwide research capability in the future.

The study focused on issues not associated with acceleration technologies, but supported critical R&D for a facility beyond the ILC. In particular, it looked at beam delivery methods and other areas in this field, including stabilisation and diagnostics.

EUROTeV advanced the design of the Linear Collider by exploring the options for the design of such a machine. The study also enabled significant progress in the two-beam acceleration proposal for the CLIC. The ILC will be an international project that will benefit from new technologies in communication and remote operations.

The work carried out by EUROTeV has provided the majority of the European contribution to the reference design report and compliments similar international efforts.
