Are you interested in a specific EU-funded project and need quick access to all relevant information? In close cooperation with http://www.openaire.eu (OpenAIRE) - the Open Access Infrastructure for Research in Europe, CORDIS has enhanced its project pages. With a simple click, you will now be granted instant access to FP7 project-specific publications and peer-reviewed articles. As the European Commission's online information service dedicated to research and development, CORDIS is constantly looking into ways to provide users with complete, up-to-date and easily accessible information about EU-funded research projects and their results. With this goal in mind, the project pages were recently updated. CORDIS already compiiles project details, participant contacts, links to official websites and related news. Via the OpenAIRE portal, it now links to existing final published articles and/or peer-reviewed manuscripts deposited into an institutional, subject-based or orphan repository. Launched in 2010, the OpenAIRE portal operates an electronic infrastructure for handling peer-reviewed articles as well as other important forms of publications. Users can search and browse articles, while scientists are provided with post-authoring tools, as well as monitoring tools through analysis of document and usage statistics. OpenAIRE's main objective is to support the implementation of 'Open Access' in Europe. The European Commission programme grants free Internet access to research articles, with a view to accelerating scientific progress. In August 2008, it was reinforced by the 'Open Access Pilot in the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7)' which covers approximately 20% of the FP7 budget and applies to 7 research areas. The pilot project is financed under FP7, and one of its current focus areas is on raising visibility of research output financed by other national funding schemes. Instant and direct access to knowledge is crucial in Europe's mission to enhance its economic performance and competition. The pilot, which will run until the end of FP7, covers approximately 20 % of the FP7 research budget and applies to 7 research areas. Open Access can also boost the visibility of European research, and in particular grant small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) access to the latest research for exploitation. To access the CORDIS project pages, please visit: http://cordis.europa.eu/projects/home_en.html To access the OpenAIRE portal, please visit: http://www.openaire.eu/
