A conference on the response of forest ecosystems to air pollution in the Mediterranean area will take place in Valencia, Spain, on 17-20 October 1994.
The conference will review results of research carried out in Europe and Canada in the area of the response of forest ecosystems and will explore the applicability of these results to Mediterranean ecosystems and climate control.
The conference will examine the following subjects:
- Historical review of forest damage by air pollution Ontario, Canada;
- Forest diseases and air pollution: Their importance in forest decline;
- Large-scale forest decline evaluation: Monitoring forest health problems and air pollution contribution in Europe;
- Air pollution bioindicators.
