Intakes of radionuclides - Occupational and public exposure

A workshop on "Intakes of radionuclides - Occupational and public exposure" will be held in Avignon, France, from 15 to 18 September 1997. The workshop is jointly organized by DG XII of the European Commission and national bodies from the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan and the United States.

The aim of the workshop is to consider areas of development in internal dosimetry and to present new information for its progress. Topics to be covered include:

- Practical application of the new human respiratory tract model;
- Revised dosimetric model for the GI tract;
- Developments in physical dosimetry;
- Data for biokinetic model development;
- Monitoring of workers and assessment of exposure;
- Bioassay interpretation and retrospective dosimetry;
- Dosimetry of the embryo and foetus;
- Decorporation of radionuclides;
- Reliability of models and biokinetic data.

The organizers would be interested in receiving papers for presentation at the conference. Abstracts should be sent to the Scientific Secretariat before 15 January 1997.
