CORDIS, the Community Research and Development Information Service, is hosting an improved interface on innovation activities in Hamburg, Germany. The service is developed jointly by the City of Hamburg, the TuTech institute of technology transfer and the local Innovation Relay Center. It provides an introduction to the regional activities, services, networks and infrastructures as well as coverage of participation in European programmes. The second most populous city of Germany presents a rich and diversified research spectrum. The Hanseatic city's business and academic organisations have been strongly involved in research on maritime transport, aircraft and the life and social sciences. The service offers information on regional research support and provides links to major innovation related initiatives both at local and European level. In addition, the service provides access to search facilities to identify organisations involved in European projects. Benefiting from proximity to Central and Eastern Europe and to Scandinavia, the regional actors have participated in over 1500 European projects. This improved interface aims at contributing from a regional perspective to the European research and innovation area, building upon strong experience in cross-border and transnational cooperation.
