The European Commission has published its second ECSEL call for research and innovation actions. This new call comes under the Horizon 2020 specific pillar 'Industrial leadership'. This call is the second of two concurrent ECSEL calls in 2014. Whilst the first ECSEL call targets activities related to the exploration of new knowledge, products or technologies through research and small-scale prototyping, this one focuses on what comes after. Supported 'innovation actions' may include prototyping, testing, demonstrating, piloting, large-scale product validation and market replication. The second ECSEL call encompasses the same nine topics as its counterpart. Applicants can expect funding for key applications in smart mobility, society, energy, health and manufacturing, as well as for process and design technologies, cyber-physical systems and smart systems integration. ECSEL is a partnership between the private and the public sectors for advancing the state-of-the art in electronic components and systems. Through ECSEL, the European Commission aims to enhance capacity, strengthen the competitiveness and growth of European companies and meet environmental and societal challenges. To see the official call announcements, please consult: Participant Portal
