To strengthen the R&D capacity of scientifically and technologically less developed areas of Portugal, with support to institutions and centres with existing 'poles' of R&D competence.

Study the reduction of costs through a reduction of fertilizer input; study alternatives to fertilizers; VAM utilisation.
