DriveSPI guidelines enhance the general risk management methodology and software tool RISKMAN in the direction of risk management applied to software development and acquisition. The guidelines provide also a methodological on-line help to the RISKMAN software. BOOTSTRAP and SPICE are software process assessment methodologies. DriveSPI guidelines extend a software process assessment methodology to risk management issues by the definition of the risk management process. The DriveSPI risk management process is part of BOOTSTRAP methodology, version 3.0. DriveSPI guidelines need to be used in association with RISKMAN and BOOTSTRAP /SPICE; they help to fill the gap between the 2 methodologies in order to apply risk assessment and risk management to improve the software process. DriveSPI is designed to help organisations improve their software process by using best practices of risk management through risk assessment of organisation and risk management applied to the projects.
