Final Report Summary - ASAP (Thylakoid membrane in action: acclimation strategies in algae and plants)
Photosynthetic organisms need to be able to respond to changes in light quality and quantity on time scales from seconds to days. How do they do this? By investigating short and long-term responses at the level of intact organisms all the way down to the molecular level, this project has provided novel insights into the different strategies used by algae and plants to protect themselves in high light and maintain high photosynthetic efficiency in low light.
