Objectif
The project proposes to perform the comparative analysis (benchmarking) of efficient support instruments for the RTD in geographical areas with demographic significant imbalances. In this way also specific tools of support would be analyzed to the companies / entrepreneurs of the rural way. Also, there would develop a panel of indicators of impact of the regional policies of support to the RTD in this type of regions.
The regional organizations in this project, which provide high degree of input in their corresponding regional RTD policy-making, include regions in Spain (Castilla y Leon), Sweden (Mid Sweden), Germany (Brandenburg), Romania (West Romania) and Estonia (Tartu and South Estonia) thus covering territories with different idiosyncrasies and entrepreneurial characteristics within the European frame, which will enrich the benchmarking process. A special attention will be paid to the case of regions that have obtained significant advances implementing RTD policies in the last years (For example: Regions to which the good use of the resources has allowed, or will allow, to leave the Objective 1). In the consortium there take part several regions of this type (Castilla y Leon, Brandenburg).
These regions will carry out a task of mentoring on the rest of regions in the project. Other objective of the project is to carry out prospective studies of policies / support instruments to RTD guided to future sectors, intensive in knowledge and with added high value: Aeronautical, transport, biotechnology, ICT and clean and/or renewable energies. The development of these sectors will allow to the participant regions to maintain and promote equilibrium between the competitiveness of its basic industries and businesses and the bid to introduce new economic activities in sectors with good prospects of future.
