Microscopic investigations of CO2 capture and scattering on liquid gas interface

Final Report Summary - CAPZEO (Microscopic investigations of CO2 capture and scattering on liquid gas interface)

The ‘CapZeo’ IRSES exchange programme (Grant Agreement number: 317544) gathered five partners, three from Europe (Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée, France – UPEM, Instituto de Estructura de la Materia, Spain – CSIC, and University of Hull, UK – UHULL), one partner from Morocco (Université Mohamed V-Agdal Rabat, Morocco – UM5A) and a fifth partner, namely the Faculté des Sciences Tunis El Manar (FSTM).This project includes one international symposium, one summer school and two scientific workpackages. The first scientific work package focuses on the electronic structure calculations necessary to model the adsorption of CO2 on the Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks (ZIFs) at the atomic level. The second scientific work package deals with the theoretical study of CO2 scattering on a liquid-gas interface at the microscopic level. This collaborative project lead to the publication of more than 45 articles in peer reviewed journals. The results from this consortium were also presented in more than 25 invited conferences and talks. In total, more than 15 PhD students are working on this project in a collaborative effort. Among the highlights we can cite 4 cover of journal volumes and 2 summer schools that gathered more than 70 attendees.
