MAC layer delay, rate and Packet error rate vs SINR curves

Subdeliverable of D3.2 that determines the MAC layer related curves that will be used in WP4 for the simulation of the hybrid network.

Initial dissemination and exploitation report

This report covers an initial plan for usage and dissemination of knowledge. It will be prepared and updated periodically. The plan will address the framework and the tools (website, press announcements, videos-clips, web, conferences, newsletters, interactive tools on the website, etc) to guarantee a proper and harmonised dissemination of the project's results during and after the SANSA lifespan. It will also develop a strategy to communicate project goals and results to mass media. Special focus will be provided for disseminating results and know-how exchange with activities where partners are already strongly involved.

Intra-system Interference Mitigation Techniques for Hybrid Terrestrial-Satellite Backhauling

This deliverable contains the outcome of Task 3.1 (Interference Mitigation techniques) including an investigation of the underlying algorithms, as well as the selection and performance evaluation of those algorithms suitable for SANSA. This deliverable includes two sub-deliverables: (i) D3.3 (Cost efficient combinations of beamforming networks and antenna apertures); and (ii) D3.4 (Beamforming signal processing algorithms)

Theoretic benchmark of KPIs

This deliverable contains the outcomes of Task 2.6. It includes the theoretical benchmark and upper bounds of the KPIs defined in Task 2.4

Multicast beamforming for distribution of popular multimedia content towards the terrestrial distribution network

This deliverable describes the multicast beamforming techniques proposed in Task 4.3 and analyzes their performance.

Hybrid network manager architecture and functionality

Sub-deliverable of D4.3 that details the architecture of the hybrid network manager to be implemented in WP5.

Final exploitation and dissemination report

The report covers overall WP7 results. It will articulate a compelling SANSA business case, include a final update on the exploitation plan of all partners, describe the efforts made towards standardisation and related bodies, as well as the dissemination aspects pursued.

State-of-the-art of cellular backhauling technologies

This deliverable contains the outcomes of Task 2.2, with an exhaustive review of current technologies and standards used for the wireless backhaul.

Requirements specification for the key enabling components

This deliverable includes the specification of the technological requirements to be fulfilled by the two enabling components that will be developed in WP5.

WP3 extended executive summary

The goal of this deliverable is the comparison and critical evaluation of the quantitative Helsinki results obtained across tasks T3.1, T3.2 and T3.3. Deliverables D3.5-7 present the outcomes of these tasks in a separate and independent manner. In contrast this deliverable will consider the potential benefits of the join application of the developed techniques. In addition, the deliverable will report on deployment guidelines towards reaching the spectral efficiency objective, focusing on the evaluation of the spectral efficiency gains versus complexity trade-off.

Definition of reference scenarios, overall system architectures, research challenges/requirements and Key Performance Indicators

This deliverable contains the outcomes of Task 2.3 and 2.4. It will specify the scenarios and network architectures covered in SANSA project as well as the technological requirements and the KPIs.

Review of Regulatory environment

This deliverable contains the outcomes of Task 2.1, namely the analysis of the current ITU, CEPT and National regulations on the Ka-band.

Standardisation report

This report covers the aspects pursued in SANSA that are related to dissemination and contribution to standardisation bodies and technical platforms in order to support an anchoring of SANSA results.

MAC layer mechanisms and adaptations for Hybrid Terrestrial-Satellite Backhauling

In this deliverable, we provide the studies and results of Task 3.4 MAC Layer Mechanisms and Adaptations which intends to describe the MAC layer mechanisms which enable the hybrid system. It includes a sub-deliverable: D3.1 (MAC layer delay, rate and Packet error rate vs SINR curves).

Database-assisted spectrum access techniques for Hybrid Terrestrial-Satellite Backhauling

This deliverable includes the investigations and findings on Task 3.3 Database-Assisted Spectrum Access Techniques.

Hybrid Network Management design and simulations results

This deliverable describes the design and functionality of the hybrid network manager studied in Task 4.2. Besides, it also analyses the performance of the management algorithms for routing LTE traffic, as well as for improving energy efficiency. It includes a sub-deliverable: D4.1 (Hybrid network manager architecture and functionality).

Cost-efficient combinations of beamforming networks and antenna apertures

Sub-deliverable of D3.5 descibing the antenna architectures to be be further explored and implemented in WP5.

Detailed simulation and benchmark of antenna architectures

This deliverable will describe the results of the design and simulation of the most promising antenna candidates in terms of beam and null-steering capabilities. A benchmark of the different solutions will be presented.

Interoperability of terrestrial and satellite links high level functional specification

This deliverable contains the outcomes of Task 4.1. It describes the techniques proposed for assuring an efficient interoperability of terrestrial and satellite segments, including load-balancing algorithms.

Dynamic Radio Resource Management for Hybrid Terrestrial-Satellite Backhauling

The results obtained from Task 3.2 Dynamic Radio Resource Management shapes this deliverable. The main objective of this deliverable is to propose the appropriate resource allocation techniques in order to deliver optimal performance in SANSAs’ scenarios.

Low-complexity/low-cost antenna

This deliverable will describe the prototype of low-complexity/low-cost beamforming antenna that will be used in the demo of SANSA.

Review of the over-the-air test results of antenna prototype for shared satellite-terrestrial spectrum access

This deliverables details the results of the demo 1 covered in Task 6.1.

Hybrid network manager

This deliverable will describe the implementation and the algorithms of the hybrid network manager system that will be also used in the demo of SANSA.

Review of the performance demonstration of the novel Hybrid terrestrial-satellite backhaul adaptive network in a virtual electromagnetic environment

This deliverables details the results of the demo 1 covered in Task 6.2.

Website of the Project

The SANSA project website will be officially launched during the first month of the project. The website will provide detailed information about the project objectives and activities. The website structure will consist of home web page with links to various web pages, namely, about SANSA, key members, deliverables, work packages, publications, news, links and contacts. The website will have two sections: public and private. The public part will be open to the general public and can be viewed by anyone with access to internet. The public part is regularly updated to provide latest project activities and overall progress. The private part is only accessible to consortium members and is protected by password. The SANSA website will provide information about the project and its events. The public part of the website will be mainly used for increasing awareness about the project amongst general public, researchers working on interference mitigation and hybrid satellite-terrestrial networks topics and specially amongst companies in the satellite communications and terrestrial backhauling sectors. The envisioned top navigation bar on the home page provides basic information to the general public about the project structure and objectives, key partners, deliverables, work packages, some news about the project and useful contact information. The website will also disseminate the project achievements by showing the research publications and patents resulting from project activities. The internal part of the website will provide restricted access to the consortium members. It will help in supporting the project management and coordination amongst the consortium members. It will be also used to share important information and documents. The website will be designed so as to provide clear and consistent information to the general public. Once the visitor enters the home page of website, he/she will be able to browse all relevant sections available for public use. The envisioned website structure will contain top and bottom navigation bars providing links to: Home; About SANSA; Key members; Deliverables; Work Packages; Publications; News; Links.
