SupraChem Lab - Laboratory of Supramolecular Chemistry for Adaptive Delivery Systems - ERA Chair initiative

Project description

Setting up a competitive research group in supramolecular chemistry

To keep pace with global innovation and drive technological and economic growth, the European tech innovation industry requires an expansion of both educational opportunities and the pool of specialists and experts. The EU-funded SupraChem Lab project aims to address this need by establishing a competitive and expanding research group focused on the study of hybrid materials for adaptive self-organised supramolecular structures. This research group will be based at the newly enhanced Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry in Romania. Adding to its strength, the project will benefit from the expertise and guidance of Professor Jean-Marie Lehn. With these combined efforts, the SupraChem Lab project strives to advance European tech innovation by fostering cutting-edge research and cultivating a talented workforce of specialists.

Objective

The SupraChem Lab Project aims to set up a competitive research group in the field of hybrid materials for adaptive selforganized supramolecular structures, in “Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry - IntelCentre, Iasi, Romania. The new created group will benefit of:
- the experience of Professor Jean Marie-Lehn (Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1987) who has accepted to supervise and support the set-up of the SupraChem Lab group and to chair the International Advisory Board of the Project
and
- the exceptional infrastructure of the newly built IntelCentre (Centre of Advanced Research in Bionanoconjugates and Biopolymers), 5 MEuro investition from the Structural Founds

Under the supervision of the ERA Chair the SupraChem Lab Group will unlock and foster the excellent research and innovation in PPIMC IntelCentre and will contribute to increase the European and international visibility of the Institute.
