Obiettivo The project has two objectives. On the one hand the sintering process itself is to take place at a lower 0temperature (below 1,300°C), thereby saving energy, and on the other hand the aim will be high reducibility in the blast furnace. Ores and additives will be mixed in such a way as to achieve both of these objectives. Particular attention will be paid to the iron ores, fuels and additives customarily used in European ore mixes. Sinter mixes with approx. 5-6% SiO2, 1.6% MgO, low FeO content and a CaO/SiO2 basicity of about 1.6 are the aim.
