Experimental development of methods to improve freedom from inclusions at the tundish

Objective

The aim of the study is to develop methods, which will make it possible to eliminate some of the inclusions in the steel at the distributor level and to limit the formation of reoxidation inclusions.

The methods used will be: 1. Filtering of inclusions by barriers with large diameter holes (>10 mm). 2. The blowing-in of argon via special permeable elements mounted in the bottom of the distributor to accelerate the settling out of the inclusions. 3. Protection of the surface in the distributor by inert gas (CO2, dry ice). The experimental work will be carried out in the works.
