Objective
Comparative study of the phenomenon of the enrichment in oligo-elements at the edge of the solidified grain as a function of the type of cooling used in continuous casting (air mist cooling) will be commenced by a laboratory simulation. Different grades of steel with low or medium contents of alloys and differing contents of oligo-elements will be examined so as to have available a wide spectrum of practical possibilities. The comparison of the experimental results with industrially obtained products on equipment with a large range of cooling controls will be obtained using a thermal model already employed in the study of reheating conditions for semi-products.
