Objectif The aim of this project is to explore the possibility of improving the refining in the converter of desiliconized and dephosphorized hot metal. By the addition of manganese ore, it should be possible to improve slag fluidity, to limit fluorspar consumption and to increase the end point manganese content thus reducing ferro-alloy consumption. The work will be conducted in the laboratory and subsequently on an industrial scale in a converter.
