Objective May 6, 1991. P2762 This project is intended to compare and assess various aspects of conventional and novel corrosion protective coatings for structural steel. Corrosion testing will be carried out on a variety of materials treated with water-based or special pigment coatings. Long term atmosphere exposure and accelerated corrosion tests will be carried out on the basis of the relevant DIN standards. This project will ensure that lead and organic solvent-based protective coatings may be replaced in the future by environmentally safer products.
