Objective Duplex stainless steels provide unique advantages in demanding applications because of their high strength combined with corrosion resistance compared to conventional stainless steels. The main objectives for this project are: - to study the low temperature fracture behaviour of SMAW and TIG welded duplex stainless steels;- to correlate small scale (KCV) and large scale results in order to be able to generate realistic toughness requirements for weldments in duplex stainless steel for low temperature applications.
