Obiettivo

An installation for continuous casting between twin cylinders and able to produce strips of 2-10 mm thickness and 600-850 mm width is to be constructed on a semi-industrial scale. Studies will be made on the: - lateral confinement of liquid steel and a system for changing strip width; - feeding of the liquid metal in synchronisation with the solidification of the strip; - performance of the machine in terms of production and quality cast product.
