Obiettivo The ergonomics project has been initiated to overview a first phase of development of an integrated face and to input wherever possible ergonomics considerations. The main objective of the project is, however, to develop recommendations for consideration in a second phase. The integrated face utilises existing shearer and roof support systems, although these are modified to allow greater computer control. One of the first jobs is therefore to see if there are any design problems with the basic face equipment which could increase accident risk.
