Documents, reports (3) Simplified and detailed chemical kinetics scheme Refers to Task 5.3 Aim: to optimize the high power density combustion with respect to ultrafast mixing and heat release; to generate an overall combustion model; to develop a detailed kinetics scheme for the combustion of elemental sulphur with air and possibly water vapour incorporating NOx chemistry and a respective reduced scheme suitable for integration into a turbulent combustion model. Success indicators: positive evaluation of detailed and reduced chemical reaction schemes via key performance indicators, such as laminar flame velocity and emission characteristics, supported with experimental data. Selection of burner concept and specification Refers to Task 5.1 Aim: to elaborate a suitable burner concept for high power density sulphur combustion capable of integration within an over-all power generation and storage concept scheme. Success indicators: suitable conceptual parameters and safety concepts identified; type of peripheral components for supply of feed streams chosen; global process parameters and power modulation range required for integration into a power generation concept determined. Overall system simulation model Refers to Task 6.5 Aim: to combine the inputs from the final versions of the sub-models developed and the test campaigns results and develop an overall system simulation model relevant to industrial level application.
