Periodic Reporting for period 1 - CHIPTRANSFORM (On-chip optical communication with transformation optics)

The chief objective of this proof of concept grant was to develop a working prototype for demonstrating an on-chip optical communication device based on transformation optics and to commercialise the idea. While we were successful in a patent application and a publication on demonstrating the functionality of the device in the laboratory, we have been plagued with setbacks on the manufacturing of the actual prototype. We are continuing to work on fabricating and testing our device with internal funding such that this project can be brought to a successful conclusion.
