Cel
Despite increasingly elaborate healthcare and supervision systems, disabled people in our developed countries encounter real problems of socio-economic integration. The project partners have found in the course of their practical experience that computer systems adapted to overcome the restrictions suffered by disabled people promote their independence and career prospects. The aim of the project is therefore to synergise the partners' know-how to enable the joint development of distance training sites for isolated disabled children, as well as of supervised initial training and qualification programmes and self-study aids.
The partners' network will facilitate the development of a shared training methodology, which will be tested on an appropriate target group during the development process. A database will be set up simultaneously to enable other European organisations to promote such initiatives by using the project partners' needs-analysis and tools.
Impact
Improved social and career prospects for disabled people through the use of computers to provide training and facilitate social integration.
