Objectif The main objectives are to:1) Systematically develop a new generation of equipment suitable for small, low head hydro power plants (HPP) with P< 1MW,2 ) Satisfy the three fundamental criteria of performance, simplicity and reliability,3) Validate, in the laboratory, the hydraulic concept of a small, low head turbine (Kaplan),4) Industrialize the concept of small, compact, low head units resulting from laboratory development of small low head turbines,5) Validate laboratory/industry transfer by the start up of two demonstration sites,6) Allow standards product methods to be dropped in favour of the systematic product method, at identical or lower prices,7) reduce construction and maintenance costs,8 ) Increase the financial returns of small, low head HPP,9) Optimise the use of hydro resources whilst respecting environmental constraints.
