Objective The goal of the project is to demonstrate the feasibility of a deterministic approach to characterise the mobile radio channel involving very complex scenarios. This will be done by the development and experimental validation of a numerical tool for characterising the propagation channel in terrestrial mobile communication systems. The tool shall be mainly focused on the simulation of the outdoor radio wave propagation in very complex scenarios such as the urban one. Moreover it shall be conceived to be easily upgradeable, in order to manage the main phenomena foreseen when addressing the indoor propagation problem. INFORMATION DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES The direct outcome of the project will be a software tool able to characterize the electromagnetic environment for mobile communications: The tool will be available via the two industrial partners for Network Operators and telecom manufacturing firms.
