Parallel Computing for Real-Time High-Resolution of Randomized Reconstruction of Backscattered Laser-Doppler Signals

Objective

The aim of the project is to demonstrate the advantages of procedures and algorithms for irregular signal acquisition, using diode array cameras and subsequent parallel signal processing. In particular, these techniques will be applied to the construction of an innovative, time resolved, medical imaging procedure based on Laser-Doppler flowmetry. This project will investigate the feasibility of an advanced measurement method which could lead to novel and useful instruments e.g. on-line, 2-dimensional determination of blood flow in capillaries of the skin.
