Development of water based resins photopolymerizable by ultraviolet radiation

Objectif

First of all new photopolimerizable watersoluble binders, have been synthesized. These resins, when cured under UV radiation, crosslink and turn from liquid into a solid film.

Two chemical natures were developed. These options were considered the more promising ways to obtain adequate results. These are:
Epoxidyc Nature, where 2 aqueous dispersions have been adjusted
Polyrethane Nature, where several resins have been developed from emulsions entirely developed inside the project with adequate performances.

Specific photoinitiators to enhance curing properties (conversion rates, cure speed) have been developed.

The developed new family of photoinitiators complies with the curing requirements of the developed aqueous based resins with potential use in solvent based ones (a wide market with good economical expectatives).

Experimental formulations based on the raw materials have appeared with application in the furniture coating field.
