CHECK YOUR CHANCES addresses small e-content businesses (up to 50 employees) who consider an IPO as an option to raise venture capital. The project provides information services to these companies that support them in their decision making process and helps them to evaluate whether an IPO is advisable taking the background of their specific business situation. If the assessment is positive, CHECK YOUR CHANCES will support the e-content businesses in taking their first yet critical steps towards an IPO.
The project will outline and explain to the companies the basic requirements and strategic options for approaching an IPO. The main objective is that these services will reduce the otherwise high cost and effort the companies would have to face only in order to evaluate if an IPO is manageable and advisable. It is not the objective of project to help businesses actually perform the IPO, but to give them the opportunity to seriously "check their chances" and to take a well based decision whether or not to start the process.
A series of seminars and workshops will be organised to enable direct exploitation of the project results. A web site will offer information resources about issues related to stock markets and IPOs and provide an e-learning environment specifically designed for e-content companies.
