Objective
WALLS WHICH ACCUMULATE HEAT MAKE USE OF SOLAR HEAT, CONTRIBUTE TO ENERGY SAVING AND IMPROVE THE HEATING CONFORT DUE TO A BETTER DISTRIBUTION OF THE HEAT. IN THIS PROJECT NEW BUILDING MATERIALS HAVE BEEN TESTED WHICH HAVE AN INCREASED HEAT STORAGE CAPACITY DUE TO THE PRESENCE OF METAL RODS OR PLATES WHICH INCREASE THE THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY IN THE WALL. (OUTER WALLS ARE THERMALLY INSULATED ON THE OUTSIDE).
BOTH CONCRETE AND BRICK WALLS COULD BE EASILY CONSTRUCTED WITH METAL HEAT CONDUCTORS AT A LOW COST. THE HEAT STORAGE CAPACITY COULD BE INCREASED BY A FACTOR 1,5 AND 1,3 RESPECTIVELY AS COMPARED TO CONVENTIONAL WALLS. THE TEMPERATURE WITHOUT HEATING IN ROOMS WITH HEAT ACCUMULATING WALLS WAS 1 DEGREE C HIGHER THAN WITH CONVENTIONAL WALLS.
