ENERGY SAVING MEASURES IN 17 FAMILY HOUSES IN HAARLEM

Objective

Construction and monitoring of 17 low energy houses in Haarlem (The Netherlands) including reinforced insulation, air solar panels and heat recovery. Expected energy savings : 30 % of gas consumption compared with traditional houses.

1. Utilization of triple glazing or improved double glazing, together with low heat emissivity curtains. Reinforcement of the insulation thickness.
2. Air solar panels including a heat storage for the purpose of warm air-heating and production of domestic hot water. A gas boiler provides auxiliary heating.
3. Heat recovery on extracted air (mechanical ventilation) and heat recovery on the exhausted gas from the auxiliary gas boiler.
